Sister’s Organization is a charitable group, made up of both men and women who are dedicated to supporting the shelter and services provided by the SEMO Family Violence Council. SEMO FVC supports women and their children, in the Missouri counties of St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Washington, Iron and Madison, who are seeking assistance from a domestic violence situation . Members participate in many ways and work to increase awareness through fundraising opportunities.  All proceeds help with programs that benefit women who have made the choice to begin a new life away from domestic violence.

Sister’s is formulating a program that will help build a transitional housing project which will provide safe housing for a two to three year period. Presently the women and their children receive short-term safe haven housing at A Friend’s Place- the shelter provided by the SEMO Family Violence Council. After counseling and support these women must find other housing in the community.  The transitional housing will be a great stepping stone on their road to a new life.
